New Partner Arrives at AL&H

A well-established West Sussex law firm has just welcomed the new head of its family department to the team.

West Sussex law firm Anderson Longmore and Higham (AL&H) welcomed a new partner at its Petworth office this week. Edward Cooke (pictured with the firm’s senior partner, Andrew Brooke) has joined the firm as a partner from another local firm where he was previously a partner.

Edward has joined AL&H as head of the firm’s Family Law department and will be responsible for heading up the firm’s family law service across the firm’s three existing offices in Petworth, Billingshurst and Storrington.

Edward is an experienced family lawyer and is accredited by Resolution as a Specialist Family Lawyer with particular expertise in resolving financial disputes and children matters. He was also among the first lawyers in the area to be trained as a Collaborative Lawyer by Resolution, the nationwide body of family lawyers committed to resolving family matters in a conciliatory and non-confrontational manner. Collaborative Law is process whereby separating couples resolve issues arising out of the breakdown of their relationship without recourse to the courts, with the assistance of specially trained family lawyers.

Andrew Brooke said the firm was delighted to be welcoming Edward.

“Edward brings great experience to his new role and will enable the firm to develop further its family law service across our offices,” Mr Brooke said.

“Edward is well known in the area, having practised here for over 10 years, and we are very pleased that he has chosen to join us to further develop his own family law practice and that of the firm.”
